Couple Safe After Pound Ridge Home Fire, Cat Is Killed

POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- Five departments responded Friday morning to a fire that engulfed a house on High Ridge Road in Pound Ridge, according to lohud.com.

The couple that lives there escaped but their cat was killed, lohud.com reported.

It took firefighters two hours to gain control of the blaze, lohud.com said.

Officials say the fire started on the first floor, the report says.
