MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- A Mount Kisco man was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree assault following an altercation on Sunday, according to officials.

Elio Fernando Rodriguez-Orellana, 38, was allegedly involved in an altercation with another 36-year-old male. During the fight, Rodriguez-Orellana allegedly used a utility knife to cut the other man several times, police said.

Rodriguez-Orellana allegedly caused severe disfigurement to the victim's arms, hand and face, causing the victim to be transported to Westchester Medical Center for treatment of his injuries, police said.

Rodriguez-Orellana was arraigned and remanded to Westchester County jail without the option of posting bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 9, police said.
