Man Threatening To Kill Himself Taken Into Custody In Yorktown

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. -- A man in Yorktown who was threatening to kill himself was taken into custody by Yorktown police without incident Thursday.

At 11 a.m., police received a call from a Fox Meadow Road residence claiming a family member was suicidal. 

Yorktown Police, with the assistance of Westchester County Police Tactical Unit, investigated the incident. Nearby residents were evacuated or told to remain in their homes, police said.

Police said once they established a safe perimeter, they approached the residence. Upon their request, a man in his 40s exited without incident and was transported to a hospital for evaluation. There were no injuries.
