The Key Food store on Welcher Avenue was hit Saturday night by an armed man, just four days after the Stop & Shop on East Main Street had a similar incident.

According to a report by The Peekskill Post, police believe the two robberies are connected.

Peekskill Chief of Police Eric Johansen told The Peekskill Post that they weren't releasing any details, but did think it was the same individual.

The Peekskill Police Department posted a video on its Facebook page asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in the Wednesday robbery of the Stop & Shop at the Beach Shopping Center

Police wouldn't answer any questions on Sunday regarding the two incidents. It was not known how much cash was stolen. It doesn't appear that there were any injuries in either case.

The man in the video at the Stop & Shop was wearing a white shirt and black knit cap.

He walked in around 10:30 p.m., gave one of the cashiers a note demanding money, and fled after getting an undetermined amount of cash, police said.

The Stop & Shop suspect left the area in a four-door sedan, police said.

Anyone with any information about either of the two robberies is being asked to call police at (914) 737-8000.

All calls will be kept confidential.
