State Police troopers were dispatched to the Town of Cortlandt Court on Monday afternoon, where there was a report of a woman fleeing the custody of court officers.

Police said that at approximately 1:50 p.m., Cortlandt resident Danielle Piamonte fled the courthouse after being remanded to the Westchester County Jail by a town justice following proceedings related to her arrest last year for criminal possession of a controlled substance, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, all misdemeanors.

Troopers were able to track down Piamonte, who was arrested and charged with third-degree escape and criminal contempt, both misdemeanors. She was arraigned in the Town of Cortlandt Court on the new charges and remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
