One Dead In Group Home Fire In Mount Kisco

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. – A fast moving fire claimed the life of a person at a group home in Mount Kisco Wednesday night, according to officials.

Fire Chief Tom Jackson confirmed that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The gender and cause of death was not known as of late Wednesday night.

The fire was first reported at the three-story structure at 43 Highland Avenue shortly before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. It was under control within 10 minutes, according to Jackson. The victim was discovered on the third floor.

A worker at the group home for the mentally disabled was treated for smoke inhalation, officials said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
