The crash occurred in Pine Island about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night.

Warwick police said a BMW carrying four people careened off a dark stretch of Glenwood Road.

Warwick firefighters and police arrived to find the car smashed up in the front yard of an unoccupied home along Glenwood Road, just north of the New Jersey border.

"They found a one car-rollover," Lt. John Rader told News12 in this report. "The car had gone off the roadway, rolled on to its side, up against an unoccupied residence.".

Two of the BMW's female occupants were killed in the crash.  Two men in the BMW suffered injuries. Their names had not been released by police and it was unclear who was driving the car when it rolled over.

Both men were hospitalized: one was flown to Westchester Medical Center and the other was taken by ambulance to Orange Regional Medical Center.

Police have not said what may have caused the accident.

"We are in the early parts of the investigation," Rader told News12.

Rader said that Warwick police are working with the State Police Reconstruction Unit and the Orange County District Attorney's Office to determine the cause of the accident and any related circumstances.
