At approximately 5:40 p.m. on Friday, crews from the Bedford Hills Fire Department were dispatched to a stretch of the parkway just south of Green Lane and north of Kisco Avenue.
According to Assistant Fire Chief Alexander Dennett, units arrived at the scene within three minutes of the original dispatch and located a “well-involved” motor vehicle fire. With the parkway completely closed, and an assist from crews in Mount Kisco, the fire was extinguished within minutes.
After knocking down and extinguishing the fire, crews from both Mount Kisco and Bedford Hills turned the scene over to the Westchester County Police. All units were cleared within a half-hour of the initial dispatch.
