CROTON FALLS, N.Y. -- New York State Sen. Greg Ball is the apparent winner in the 40th District. With 78 percent of districts reporting in Westchester, Ball was trailing Democratic challenger Justin Wagner by 3,183 votes. However, with 100 percent of districts reporting, Ball won in Dutchess County by 1,919 votes and in Putnam County by 5,037 votes, giving Ball a 3,772 vote lead.

“It is one thing to make promises every two years, it is another thing entirely to deliver results," said Ball.

"Working with Governor Cuomo, in a bipartisan way, I have delivered. In just two years we have repealed the MTA payroll tax, capped property taxes and cut income taxes across the board,” said the senator.

Ball, 35, of Patterson, ran on the Republican, Conservative and Independence tickets. Ball has held public office since 2006, when he was elected to the New York State Assembly's 99th District.

Wagner, 31, of Croton ran on the Democrat, Working Families Party and Green Party tickets.

The newly redrawn 40th State Senate District includes Peekskill, Cortlandt, Yorktown, Somers, New Castle, North Salem, Lewisboro, Pound Ridge and parts of Putnam and Dutchess counties.

when will the final votes be in for Westchester?? We need to know if we have to deal with "Off the Wall" Greg Ball or if we get Justin "Wacky" Wagner!

The count is not complete first of all and Wagner was very strong in Westchester, so we'll see. The arrogance from Ball just reinforces the many reasons why he is not qualified for public office. Regardless of the outcome of this one, the Senate IS NO LONGER Republican Controlled, so we can actually get things done in Albany now!

Greg Ball is a loathsome State Senator. The alternative is a Democrat controlled Senate and that is even worse. That is why I voted for Greg Ball.

Maybe he will stop calling my house now! Wayyyy tooooo many calls Ball!!!
