"When there are no ceilings, the sky's the limit," the Chappaqua resident said, as her husband, former President Bill Clinton, cheered on with their daughter, Chelsea, who introduced her mother's speech.

“Thank you all for that amazing welcome, and thank you Chelsea. I am so proud to be your mother," Hillary Clinton said at the beginning of her speech.

“Bill that conversation we started in the (Yale University) law library 45 years ago, it is still going strong,” she said to her husband. “You know that conversation has lasted thorugh good times that filled us with joy and hard times, and I even got a few words in along the way.”

Hillary Clinton said the presidency requires "smarts, judgment, cool resolve and strategic application of power. That's the type of commander in chief I pledge to be."

Clinton delivered pointed attacks on the temperament of Republican nominee and Bedford estate owner Donald Trump.

"A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons," she said. "Donald Trump can't even handle the rough-and-tumble of a presidential campaign...Imagine him in the Oval Office facing a real crisis."

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo spoke at the convention earlier in the evening, evoking memories of his father, former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo's keynote address at the 1984 Democratic Convention.

Former commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan, Ret. U.S. Marine Corps Gen. John Allen called for the United States to be a force of good for all races, all ethnicities and religions “including our Americans who are our precious Muslims ... all of us together pursing our common values.”
