MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. In-person voter registration ends on Oct. 12, and November's election is approaching. The Mount Kisco Daily Voice is here to show you who is on the ballot this season, where in town to vote and how to register if you have not already done so.
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, for voters to cast their ballots in the race between President Barack Obama and Republican candidate Mitt Romney, as well as in U.S. congressional races and local races.
In the 2012 U.S. Senate race, Republican Wendy Long, a Manhattan attorney, will compete against incumbent U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D).
Moving from Republican Rep. Nan Hayworths 19th District into the newly redrawn 17th Congressional District, Mount Kisco voters will choose between Joe Carvin, the Republican supervisor of Rye, or U.S. Rep. Nita Lowey, D-Harrison. Lowey formerly represented the 18th Congressional District but now represents the 17th due to redistricting.
Mount Kisco voters will choose between incumbent state Sen. Greg Ball (R) and Democrat Justin Wagner for state Senate District 40.
The Mount Kisco Board of Trustees race is uncontested this year. Incumbent Jean Farber (D) is running for a second term and real estate lawyer Karen Schleimer (D) is running for the open seat to be vacated by Democratic Trustee Joseph Morreale. The Republicans have chosen not to run a candidate.
New voters in Westchester can register in person at the county Board of Elections office, 25 Quarropas St. in White Plains, by Oct. 12. State law requires that mailed registration applications be postmarked by Oct. 12 and received by Oct. 17.

District 1: Mount Kisco Public Library, 100 Main St.
District 2: Village Hall, 104 Main St.
District 3: Mount Kisco Public Library, 100 Main St.
District 4: Mount Kisco Village Court, 40 Green St.
District 5: Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 310 Lexington Ave.
District 6: Mount Kisco Housing Authority, 200 Carpenter Ave.
District 7: Mount Kisco Public Library, 100 Main St.
