America Rising PAC, a conservative group, announced they are launching a campaign against Cuomo, who is running for a third term in 2018 and is also being touted as a potential presidential candidate in 2020.
The group said they plan on targeting Cuomo's handling of the Metropolitan Transit Authority and will hire a campaign tracker to film Cuomo at his public events according to the New York Times.
Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino and Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro are considering running against Cuomo on the Republican ticket while former State Senator Terry Gipson is considering a primary challenge.
