Primary Day In Mount Kisco: Here's Where to Vote

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. — The primary is Tuesday, and The Mount Kisco Daily Voice is here to show you where you to go to submit your ballot.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday for registered voters to cast their ballots in the U.S. Senate and Congressional primaries.

A Republican primary is being held for U.S. Senate, as three candidates square off to go up against Democratic incumbent U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in November. The three Republicans are U.S. Rep. Bob Turner of New York City, Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos and Manhattan attorney Wendy Long.

Two congressional primaries also are being held. In the newly redrawn Congressional District 17, which includes Mount Kisco, James Russell, a Hawthorne resident, and Joe Carvin, supervisor of Rye, are running to represent the Republican Party in the November election. The winner will face U.S. Rep. Nita Lowey, D-Harrison. Although Lowey currently represents the 18th Congressional District, that seat is moving to the 17th Congressional District because of redistricting.

Meanwhile, in the newly aligned 18th District, five Democrats are running for a spot on the ballot to challenge U.S. Rep. Nan Hayworth, R-Mount Kisco, who currently represents the 19th District.

They challengers are Cortlandt Councilman Richard Becker, Buchanan resident Duane Jackson, Wappinger Falls Mayor Matt Alexander, Tuxedo Park Mayor Tom Wilson and Sean Maloney, a former aide to President Bill Clinton.

Polling places are at the following locations:

• District 1: Mount Kisco Public Library, 100 Main St.

• District 2: Village Hall, 104 Main St.
