Man Charged With Striking Pregnant Girlfriend

A Greenwich man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly assaulted his pregnant girlfriend in front of his children and hers. The man started arguing with his girlfriend in front of his 2-year-old and 6-year-old and her 11-year-old and 12-year-old children. The fight became physical when he smashed a flat-screen TV, then pushed and hit her. Police said the woman was 20 weeks pregnant. When she tried to call 911, he ripped the phone out of her hand, police said. He was charged with disorderly conduct, risk of injury to a minor, interfering with a 911 call and assault on a pregnant person. He was released on a $1,000 bond and was due in court Monday.

? Carl Lynell Lawson, 31, of 10 Armstrong Court in Greenwich was arrested Thursday during a drug bust. Police allegedly seized marijuana and drug paraphernalia from his apartment. During the search and seizure, a 12-year-old was in the apartment. Lawson was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and risk of injury to a minor. Lawson was released on a $1,000 bond and is due in court March 10.

? Alvaro Lopez, 28, of 10 Weaver St. in Greenwich was arrested Feb. 26 on possession of marijuana charges. He was stopped driving over the speed limit in Armstrong Court. During the stop, officers said they smelled marijuana and charged him with possession of marijuana under four ounces and unsafe movement. Lopez was released on a promise to appear in court March 14.

? Daniel Acevedo, 29, of 121 N. Broadway in White Plains was arrested Feb. 26 on possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia charges. Police said they found the illicit items when they searched Acevedo’s car on South Water Street in Greenwich. He was released on a promise to appear in court March 14.
