Store Employee Charged In Northern Westchester Underage Detail

A supermarket employee was charged on Friday during an Underage Drinking Initiative Detail that targeted four towns in Northern Westchester.

A female employee of Acme Supermarket located in the Goldens Bridge Shopping Center State on Route 22 was charged with unlawfully dealing with a child.

She was issued an appearance ticket return to the Town of Lewisboro Court on Sept. 12. In addition, her employer may face possible civil penalties imposed by the State Liquor Authority, state police said.

The detail, conducted by investigators and uniform members of the State Police barracks in Somers, targeted establishments in Somers, North Salem, Pound Ridge and Lewisboro.

The establishments were visited with state police using an individual under 21 years of age who attempted to buy alcohol. 

The following businesses did not sell to the underage buyer and are to be commended for their compliance with the New York State Alcohol Beverage Control Act, state police said:
