Police were called to the area of Shannon Street just after 3:15 a.m. for a ShotSpotter alert, but officers didn't locate a victim. They did find evidence of gunshots, Worcester police said.
Authorities called local hospitals for recent gunshot victims and found the teen had been dropped off and died of his wounds, Worcester police said.
Officials did not release his name as they notify his family.
