The symposium is set for 6:30 p.m. at the school at New York 172 in Bedford. From particle physics, to sphere packing, to cancer research there will be a host of research projects on display during the evening, representatives said in a press release. John Parsons, of Columbia University, will give a presentation on particle physics during the symposium.

The Science Research Program places students with professional science mentors in the community to advise them and provide a supervised setting for experimentation, according to a release.

In the past, students have performed research at Curtis Industries in Mount Kisco, Columbia University, Nevis Laboratory, Massachusetts General Hospital (Harvard), Calder Center, Princeton, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bell Laboratories, Duke University, American Museum of Natural History and Mount Sinai, Sinai, New York University Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Cornell University, Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, Wolf Conservation Center, Boston University and Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory.

"Our primary goal is to permit our science research students the time and guidance required to engage in long-term research in an area of their choice," representatives said in a release. "Students will explore the literature of their topic choice, communicate with leading researchers in the field and ultimately, obtain an internship at a lab where they will be able to design and implement an original project."
