The newly minted graduates, who gathered at Katonah's Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, formed a sea of red and white in the audience, with their graduation attire displaying the school's colors.

The commencement also served as a farewell to a slew of Bedford Central School District officials, either because they were leaving or taking new positions within the district.

Joel Adelberg, the school's principal, delivered his last commencement address. Adelberg will stay in Bedford Central but will assume the role of assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, a post that traditionally does not involve commencement speaking.

Interim Superintendent John Chambers, who assumed the top administrative role in November due to a vacancy caused by the resignation of Jere Hochman, delivered his first and only Fox Lane commencement address. Christopher Manno, who will take over as Bedford Central's next superintendent on July 1, was in the audience.

School board members Jennifer Gerken and Suzanne Grant, who will step down next month, were on stage for their last commencement as sitting officials. Assistant Superintendents Mark Betz and Drew Patrick, who are each leaving this summer, were also among those on hand.

Beth Staropoli, the district's athletic director, attended her final commencement as an administrator. However, Staropoli can return next year, as she will join the school board this summer, as she was elected to a seat in May.

Jesse Hoogland served as this year's salutatorian, while Anna-Sophia Boguraev served as valedictorian. Fellow graduate Sorvina Carr served as this year's student speaker, while high school teacher William Broggy was selected to deliver the annual address to the class.

Graduates Brittany Dassa and Brandon Fuhr served as co-masters of ceremonies for the commencement.

Members of the school's Concert Band performed a rendition of the national anthem, while members of the school's Chamber Choir and Senior Choir performed a rendition of a Dolly Parton song called "Light of a Clear Blue Morning."

One by one, graduates walked onto the stage to receive their diplomas. School board member Andrew Bracco, who was the only one to have a teenager in this year's graduating class, presented his daughter with her diploma.

The newly minted graduates concluded the commencement with a celebratory tossing of their mortarboards in the air.
