Fox Lane High School Students Join All-State Music Ensembles

BEDFORD, N.Y. -- Six Fox Lane High School musicians have been selected from thousands of students throughout New York State to participate in the New York All-State Music Ensembles.

Performing with the All-State String Orchestra will be 11th-grade violinist Zoe Dweck and 11th-grade double bassist, Andrea Reino.

Singing in the All-State Mixed Chorus will be Benjamin Coleman, an 11th-grade bass, Laura Quinn, a 12th- grade alto and Claudia Reino, an 11th-grade soprano.

Joelle Sandak, an 11th-grade soprano, will perform as a member of the All-State Vocal Jazz Ensemble.

Selection for participation was based upon each student’s solo performance rating in the New York State School Music Association Solo Festival held this past spring, in which more than 10,000 students vied for spots in the All-State Ensembles.

These Bedford orchestra musicians perform in the Fox Lane High School string program under the direction of Sue E. Colgan-Borror. 

The vocalists perform in the Fox Lane High School choral program under the direction of Edward Reisert.

The All-State concerts will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6 and Sunday, Dec. 7 in the Eastman Theatre in Rochester, N.Y,
