Fox Lane High School is a partner with its sister school, Beijing 165 High School, in Beijing, China offering a youth exchange program. The partnership was formed when Fox Lane High School Principal Joel Adelberg and Assistant Superintendent Drew Patrick toured Beijing 165 High School last year.
While on the tour, Adelberg and Patrick signed a sister school agreement that will serve as the basis of life-long opportunities and relationships between the two schools. The program's goal is providing students from China the opportunity to visit Fox Lane and for the students from Fox Lane to visit China.
The exchange program begins in February, when 23 students and three teachers from Beijing 165 High School will visit Fox Lane High School. The Beijing visitors are scheduled to arrive in the early evening of Monday, Feb. 2. The students and teachers will leave from Bedford on Sunday, Feb. 8.
Fox Lane High School is looking for host families. Once the students arrive on Feb. 2, each one will spend their time here with a host family. On Tuesday, Feb. 3 and Wednesday, Feb. 4, the students will attend classes in the morning and then participate in excursions throughout the afternoon. The excursions already have been planned by the sponsoring foreign exchange organization.
Once the excursions are over, students will return to the host family’s home for dinner and upon their departure, they will leave from Fox Lane High School.
