My name is Ed Reder and it has been my honor to serve on the Bedford Board of Education since 2013. My family resides in Mount Kisco and I have two children in our public schools. I believe BCSD needs experienced leaders now more than ever. Last year BCSD experienced significant turnover in our administration and I am proud to have been a member of the Board leadership that hired our new superintendent, Dr. Christopher Manno. My track record of devoted, consistent service to BCSD is key to maintaining our positive change in direction.

US News and World Report just ranked FLHS in the Top 50 high schools in New York, and we should strive to maintain and build upon that success. I have pressed the administration to improve and restore high school programs, provide balance throughout the district, and ensure that our students are challenged every day. Our students deserve the best, most forward-focused learning approaches in order to succeed.

I believe that academic success requires an inspiring and safe environment and that fiscal stability is vitally important for our schools. Since joining the Board I have been a tireless advocate in successfully pressing our NY State legislators to restore millions of dollars in funding to BCSD as part of our strategic multi-year plan. To stay on a course of fiscal and programmatic recovery, we need experienced Board leadership that understands the budget’s key economic drivers and has a mastery of knowledge to further enhance educational excellence in BCSD.
