KATONAH, N.Y. - The Harvey School girls volleyball team is optimistic about its 2012 season and the opening of the school's new athletic facility next month.

“This year, we are looking to improve our overall record,”  Harvey coach Dave Ketner said. “We are also very excited to shine in our new athletic center."

The Cavaliers volleyball team lost several key seniors to graduation from last year's team that went 5-10 overall and 3-2 in Hudson Valley Athletic League. The 2012 team will be led by captains Karina Lambert, Annelise Cepero and Gabrielle Kahn with strong contributions from seniors Gabrielle Paulhac and Leila Zuaiter.

After placing second in the league last year, the Cavaliers lost in the semi-finals in the league playoffs to Master’s, Connecticut.

“This year’s team has great chemistry, strong serving, setting and hitting, all ingredients that will lead to a successful season," Ketner said.

The first game in the new athletic center is slated for Saturday, Oct. 20 on Homecoming Weekend.
