Almost every player for the Hudson Valley Fort had been cut from an NFL team before joining the FXFL, according to the Times Herald-Record.

Currently, the FXFL has only three teams, but they plan to expand. The teams are the Fort, the Bolts, and the Florida Blacktips, according to the FXFL website.

John Jenkins, the coach for the Fort, has coached three Heisman Trophy Winners: Hershel Walker, Doug Flutie, and Andre Ware. Jenkins believes the league's small size will allow the players to develop their talents more fully than if coaches had to spread their attention to more teams, according the Times Herald-Record.
