PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The NCBWA East Regional Poll and the Northeast-10 conference are honoring Pace athletes for outstanding performance on and off the field.
Baseball senior James Pjura was honored by the NCBWA Division II East Regional Poll for his achievements last season. Pjura hit .297 last season with 16 doubles, five home runs, and 36 RBI. For his efforts, he was selected first-team Daktronics All-East Region and first-team All-Northeast-10 Conference.
In addition to Pjura's honors, the Pace baseball team opens its season ranked sixth in the poll.
The Northeast-10 conference also released its fall all-academic team which includes women’s soccer goalie Leslie Robertson and football tight end Luiz Ribeiro.
In order to be eligible for the NE-10 all-academic team, a student-athlete must have been a starter or significant contributor and have a 3.3 cumulative GPA or higher.
Robertson started 16 games this past season for the women’s soccer team in net for the Setters. She finished the season with a 1.89 goals-against average and led the NE-10 with 103 saves. Robertson is a childhood education major in the School of Education and has a cumulative GPA of 3.72.
Ribeiro totaled 22 receptions for 210 yards and one touchdown this season as a tight end for the Pace football team. Throughout his career, he has posted 34 receptions for 327 yards and one score. Ribeiro is majoring in finance in the Lubin School of Business and has a cumulative GPA of 3.94.
