Hutchinson River Parkway Closure Rescheduled

Previously scheduled road closures on the Hutchinson River Parkway have been rescheduled as the region braces for the latest winter storm, which may see more than a foot of snow in the area.

As part of the ongoing bridge replacement projects in Mount Vernon and Pelham, a portion of the parkway between Exit 6 (I-95) and Exit 12 (East Lincoln Avenue) was scheduled to be closed, but with crews prioritizing safety on the roadway with the impending storm, the New York State Department of Transportation has rescheduled the closures.

The NYSDOT announced that the roadway will instead be closed next week, from 11 p.m. on Friday, March 16 through 5 a.m. on Monday, March 19 to allow crews to complete work.

Officials said that there will be signage posted and detours in place. Northbound traffic on the Parkway will be detoured at the I-95 interchange. Southbound traffic will be diverted to the Cross County Parkway and the Bronx River Parkway for points south.

All on-ramps to the Hutchinson River Parkway south of the construction site (at the East 3rd Street overpass) will be accessible for southbound traffic. Motorists are advised to follow the posted detours, anticipate delays and plan travel accordingly.
