Numerous Crashes Reported On Slick Westchester Roadways

Numerous motor vehicle crashes were reported in the Lower Hudson Valley on Sunday afternoon amid the latest winter storm to hit the area.

A pickup truck overturned on eastbound I-287 in White Plains, landing on the side of the roadway just after noon. No injuries were reported.

A separate crash occurred on I-287, this one at 1:45 p.m. and on the westbound side, at the Sprain Brook Parkway interchange (Exit 3).

A 2:15 p.m. crash caused delays on the southbound Hutchinson River Parkway at Mamaroneck Road (Exit 22), with traffic backed up to North Street (Route 127, Exit 25) in Harrison.

Farther south, a 1:40 p.m. crash was reported on the northbound Sprain Brook Parkway at Jackson Avenue in Yonkers.

In Rockland, a 2 p.m. crash on northbound I-87 led to delays at Exit 14 in Spring Valley (Route 59).

An earlier crash, also northbound on I-87, blocked the left lane at Exit 13 (Palisades Parkway), with traffic backed up to Exit 12 (Route 303).

Farther north, Route 6 was closed for several hours in Tomkins Cove after a crash on Long Mountain Circle at Route 293.

The driver of an SUV lost control on an icy roadway in Hillcrest and struck a house on Ward Lane on Sunday morning, Ramapo Police said. For more on that incident, click here.
