Strong winds that included a gust of 72 miles per hour Monday at Westchester Airport led to numerous downed trees and power outages throughout the area.

Valentine's Day will be a seasonably cold day with the sun breaking through cloud cover and a high in the mid-30s.

Temperatures will warm up a bit Wednesday, climbing into the low-40s, but not before some spots could see a bit of snow.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a 20-percent chance of snow and then rain between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday in Northern Westchester, Rockland and Putnam.

During that six-hour time frame Wednesday, any precipitation in Southern Westchester should be all rain.

Wednesday will be a mostly cloudy day with wind-chill values between 25 and 35 degrees.

Clouds return Thursday with the high temperature only reaching 35.
