According to AccuWeather.com meteorologists, an Alberta Clipper from the north is expected to bring some light rain and snow showers to pockets of the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut on Friday, Jan. 29.

In doing so, the storm will keep a much more dangerous weather system tracking Northeast from the south from reaching the coast, sparing local communities what may be major snowfall, according to AccuWeather.com.

While the tristate area is expected to be spared, Maine and parts of Canada may experience moderate snow fall on account of the larger storm, according to AccuWeather.com.
