Weather Advisory Issued For Mount Kisco With 2-5 Inches Of Snow Expected

After a cloudy and dry day, a more potent system is expected to sweep through the area overnight before wrapping up Sunday evening.

Northern Westchester, Putnam and Rockland, where a Winter Storm Advisory has been issued from midnight Sunday to midnight Monday, could see 2 to 5 inches of accumulation of snow. Periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain causing travel difficulties, warns the National Weather Service.

Southern Westchester will see a mix of rain, sleet and snow with up to 2 inches of snow possible.

Precipitation should begin sometime around  3 a.m. Sunday. Rain and snow will fall at times throughout the day Sunday, turning the rain in areas farther south, where the high temperature will reach around 38 degrees. Northern Westchester, Putnam and Rockland will see more snow during the day as the temperature rises above freezing a bit later, with the high temperature reaching around 35 degrees.

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for Dutchess from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday. Snowfall accumulations of 5 to 8 inches are expected, with higher amounts farther north in the county.

Winds will increase, becoming strong and gusty late Sunday night through Monday, causing blowing and drifting of snow.
