That’s why Mount Kisco resident and Auburn Jewelry owner Samantha Levine's tale has been featured by several local media outlets, including The ExaminerWAG Magazine, Audrey Allure’s fashion blog and CBSNewYork.com.

However Levine, a Horace Greeley High School graduate, said she didn’t envision her handmade jewelry receiving so much publicity so quickly when she founded her business more than a year ago from her basement studio.

“I have definitely been surprised by all the attention that the jewelry is getting,” Levine said. “People seem to love it because of the customization. I’ve been getting tons of custom orders, which are my favorite pieces to design and create. Most recently I had a custom order for a paw print pendant. That really challenged me creatively and turned out to be a gorgeous piece.”

Auburn Jewelry now has four different lines: Planished Pieces, Bamboo, Elle and Charming. The Elle collection, noted by Levine as her most popular line, is comprised of sterling silver and 14k gold pendants, cufflinks and key chains, all of which come in 18 colors and are “completely customizable.”

Levine hopes “Charming," just launched this week, has the same amount of success, as it "is the big new product for the holiday season."

“The Charming line is custom, sterling silver and 14k gold charm bracelets,” she said. “These bracelets add a personal touch to any ensemble. They are sleek, simple and totally customizable. Easily exchange charms to match your favorite shoes or your mood.”

Not only is Levine expanding her lines – she’s also expanding her reach. Auburn Jewelry is available in Beehive Designer Collective in Mount Kisco, Aurora in Chappaqua, D’Erricos in Scarsdale and Mount Kisco, Wipe Your Paws in Mount Kisco, and the glass onion in Pleasantville. Shoppers can also find the product online in its Etsy store and/or its website.

While Auburn Jewelry is known for its unique set-up and customizable offerings, it is also building a reputation for giving back. Ten percent of purchases from Auburn Jeweler’s “SPCA of Westchester” pendant line, which includes a dog bone and a fish, are donated to the SPCA of Briarcliff. Most recently, Levine created breast cancer awareness pendants, with 10 percent of the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society during the month of October.

Those interested in checking out Auburn Jewelry lines and meeting Levine in person can do so at the Chappaqua Fall Festival on Saturday and the ArtsWestchester Holiday Boutique on Dec. 7 and Dec. 8.
