MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. – Here’s a look at what's happening around the Mount Kisco/ Bedford this week, including government meetings and community events. See our Events page for more listings.

Monday, Dec. 24

Bedford Central Schools Holiday Recess: Schools are closed for the week and will reopen on Wednesday, Jan.  2.

Christmas Eve Services: 5 p.m. Candlelight, evergreens, poinsettias and the glorious music of the season will fill the sanctuary of the Bedford Presbyterian Church during Christmas Eve services. Bedford Presbyterian Church, Village Green, Bedford.

Christmas Eve Services: 7 and 11 p.m. This worship service features inspirational messages, instrumental and choral music, and candle lighting. United Methodist Church, 300 E Main St., Mount Kisco.

Mount Kisco Public Library closes at 2 p.m. Monday, Christmas Eve and is closed Tuesday, Christmas Day.

Katonah Village Library is closed Monday and Tuesday.

Bedford Town offices are closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Mount Kisco village offices are closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Tuesday, Dec. 25

Westchester's Christmas Day Dinner: Noon. Founded on the premise that no one in our area should be alone or hungry on Christmas Day, the annual Westchester Christmas Day Dinner is an all-volunteer charitable event. Invitations are extended to 300 guests of all faiths through various Westchester County shelters and agencies that service needy populations. Each guest receives a hot Christmas dinner, warm clothing and holiday gifts. St. Mary's School, 99 Valley Road, Katonah.

Wednesday, Dec. 26

Family Holiday Concert at Jodi's Gym: 4 to 4:45 p.m. For children ages 1 to 5 years. Admission for members is $20 per child and $15 for each additional sibling, while non-members pay $25 per child and $20 for each additional sibling. Adult participation is required. Jodi's Gym, 25 Hubbels Drive, Mount Kisco.

Movie Madness at the Katonah Village Library : 10:30 a.m. "Madagascar 3" is 93 minutes and rated PG. At 3 p.m., there will be a showing of "The Avengers." The film is 145 minutes and rated PG-13. Katonah Village Library, 26 Bedford Road, Katonah.

Mount Kisco Village Library Movie Time: 2 p.m. Enjoy a family movie matinee showing of "The Polar Express." The Polar Express runs for 100 minutes and rated G.

Senior Information Benefits and GED Tutoring are canceled Wednesday at the Mount Kisco Public Library.

Thursday, Dec. 27

Mount Kisco Library Stories and Crafts : 2 p.m. Listen to some stories about penguins and then make your own penguin to take home. This event is appropriate for children ages 4 and up. Call 864-0130 or stop by the Children's Room to register. Mount Kisco Public Library, 100 E Main St., Mount Kisco.
