What's Happening Around Mt. Kisco This Weekend

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y.— A kids' craft session, turtle monitoring and fitness boxing classes are among the events happening around Mount Kisco this weekend.

Friday, Aug. 10

Crafty Kids : 3:30 p.m. The library will provide all crafts materials at this free workshop for kids entering grades three through five. For more information, call 914-864-0130. Mount Kisco Public Library, 100 E. Main St., Mount Kisco.

After School Friday Fun at Spins Bowl : 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Kids are invited to the Spins Bowl for fun and interactive bowling games. Bowlopolis, Spins' goofy bowling pin mascot, will make a special appeance. Grand Prix New York Racing/Spins Bowl, 333 N. Bedford Road, Mount Ksco.

Saturday, Aug. 11

Turtle Monitoring at Westmoreland Sanctuary: 10 a.m. Kids can learn about the painted and snapping turtles that live in Bechtel Lake and the box turtles that live in the sanctuary's wildlife management area. Suggested donation is $5 per person. Westmoreland Sanctuary, 260 Chestnut Ridge Road, Mount Kisco.

The Kelty Twins: Onstage at MTK Tavern : 9 p.m. Four-piece rock band The Kelty Twins will perform what they call "stripped-down classic rock and blue-eyed soul music" starting at 9 p.m. MTK Tavern, 30 E. Main St., Mount Kisco.

Sunday, Aug. 12

Boxing for Fitness Classes : 6 a.m. Fitness enthusiasts can get up early and challenge themselves for one of the gym's daily individual or small group boxing fitness workouts. Lexington Avenue Gym, 326 Lexington Ave., Mount Kisco.
