During the construction preparation, additional asbestos was discovered in the building and will be remediated shortly by the Playhouse. Once the removal is completed, an inspection will be required to secure final approval to proceed.
The Playhouse has also been working with the Town of Bedford to increase available parking for its patrons. After two years of effort and exploration, the town and the Playhouse have agreed on a plan that will allow for over 50 additional parking spaces dedicated specifically for moviegoers. Both parties are currently working together to move this plan through the approval process.
Entering its final development phase, the Playhouse has also announced the opportunity for community donors, foundations, or other institutions to name the building itself. The Playhouse's donor and namesake will be specially recognized for bringing the vital project to fruition.
