MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- In honor of National Food Safety Month, Stephanie Perruzza, registered dietitian at Northern Westchester Hospital, focuses on ways to keep patrons safe from foodborne illnesses on Northern Westchester Hospital's blog.

Approximately 48 million Americans get sick each year from the illness, according to the Center for Disease Control.

Perruzza gives tips and examples on how to stay safe from foodborne illness and debunks myths often associated with food safety.
