MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. - Happy birthday to Mount Kisco's Arthur Ochs Sulzberger Jr.
Sulzberger Jr., who was born and grew up in Mount Kisco, was born Sept. 22, 1951.
He became the publisher of The New York Times in 1992 and chairman of the board of its owner, The New York Times Company, in 1997, succeeding his father, Arthur Ochs Sulzberger.
Sulzberger Jr. has been credited with developing the Times' Internet operations, monetizing digital content and helping to improve the paper's bottom line.
He was awarded the 2012 National Book Award and Literarian Award for Outstanding Service to the American Literary Community.
