Pedestrian Struck in Mt. Kisco by State Trooper

MT. KISCO, N.Y.-- New York State Police are currently investigating an accident which resulted in a pedestrian being struck by a car driven by a State Police trooper in Mount Kisco, said State Police Major Michael Kopy.

The accident, which occurred about 10 a.m. Wednesday, involved Dolce M. Perez, a 22-year-old Mount Kisco resident, who was crossing the street to the northbound side of West Main Street when she was struck by Sergeant Joseph Cristino in a state owned 2006 gray Chevy Impala, Kopy stated.

Cristino, who is a 15-year-veteran of the State Police, was making a left turn onto West Main Street, also known as Route 133, after going northbound on Maple Ave. According to Kopy, Perez was conscious and speaking to Westchester EMS who arrived on the scene. She was taken to Westchester Medical Center with a head injury, said Kopy.

It is standard procedure for every accident involving a state trooper injuring a pedestrian for a collision reconstruction unit to go to the scene to do further investigation, Kopy said.
