What to do This Weekend With the Kids

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y.,-- Looking for something to do this weekend with the kids? Below is a list of some of the things happening around Mt. Kisco that are family friendly.

The South Salem's Wolf Conservation Center is showing off the new ambassador wolf pups added to the center. On Satuday, July 30 at 7pm, families will have the chance to hike in the center to see the two new pups, as well as other types of wolves that live there. This will be both educational and memorable. The price is $16 for adults and $13 for children under 12 years old. Interested families must register at the centers website, here. The Wolf Conservation Center is located at 7 Buck Run, South Salem, NY.

The Mt. Kisco Firemen’s Parade was rained out in July, but residents of Mt. Kisco will have the chance to see their favorite fire department march in the Bedford Fire Departments Annual Parade. The parade will be held on Friday, July 29 and start at Route 22 and The Farms Road in Bedford around 7pm. It will make its way to the firehouse where awards will be given out. This is a chance to see some classic and antique firetrucks, as well as support some local heroes.

Happening in Katonah on Friday, July 29 and Saturday July 30, is the annual Sidewalk Sales. Local stores will set up shop outside on the sidewalk and offer great discounts on most of their merchandise. Most tables will be up and running by 9:30am, so head to Katonah and take a stroll down Katonah Avenue and Jay Street where the sale will take place.

Just because it’s the summer doesn’t mean kids shouldn’t be using their brains. So head over to the Chappaqua Library where there is a Bridge and Scrabble Club that meets on Saturday at 10am. Bridge isn’t for beginners, but Scrabble players of all level are welcome. The library is located at 195 South Greeley Avenue in Chappaqua, N.Y.
