MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- A Mount Kisco man was able to detain a Bedford Hills man who was accused of attempting to burglarize his home on Wednesday, Oct. 22, police officials said.

Savino Avila-Jacinto, 34, was accused of rummaging through the homeowner's personal belongings on the first floor of the residence with another suspect. The homeowner was on the second floor with his wife and child when he reported the incident to the police, authorities said.

The homeowner was able to detain Alva-Jacinto on his own, but the other suspect fled the scene. Alva-Jacinto was charged with second-degree burglary and was released from custody after posting $2,000 bail, police said.

The suspect who escaped is described as an Hispanic male with short black hair. He was wearing a black shirt at the time of the robbery, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Mount Kisco Detective Division at 914-666-3855.
