Mount Kisco Police Warn Residents About Door-To-Door Solicitors

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. – The following is an advisory from the Mount Kisco Police Department sent to residents following concerns about at least one man claiming to be a roofing contractor going door-to-door to solicit business.

Mount Kisco Police ask residents to report any door-to-door solicitors in the confines of Mt Kisco by phoning 914-241-1100.

The Village Code requires any person soliciting business door-to-door to secure a Solicitor’s Permit from the Village Manager’s Office. At the present time, Luxe Marketing Concepts, Inc. an authorized agent to sell Verizon Services has been issued a Solicitors permits and information concerning this company and their employees authorized to solicit are on file with the Village of Mount Kisco.

Anyone who is approached in person at home with a business solicitation other than Luxe Marketing Concepts representatives is encouraged to call the Mount Kisco Police Department at the time it is happening so police personnel may respond and correct the situation.

Report suspicious activity by calling 914-241-1100 and ask to speak with an officer.

Home contractors must also be registered with Westchester County and have a permit in order to perform contracting work. Those permits may be checked by contacting the Westchester County Department of Consumer Protection at 914 995 2211 or via the web atconsumer.westchestergov.com/contact-us.

This can be a great help in avoiding being victimized by fraudulent home contracting scams.
