RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The search for David Reik was called off at about 1:30 p.m. on Sunday after a body was found in Ridgefield by a group of citizen volunteers.
Fire Chief Heather Burford said the body has not yet been positively identified, but that its believed to be Reik.
There are no specifics as to how he died, said First Selectman Rudy Marconi. He added, "Our heart and souls, our prayers, go out to the family for such a tragic loss," Marconi said. "To have it happen this way -- exercising, its one of those things in life you have to characterize as not fair. And this is a good example of something being not fair."
