Dutchess County Halloween Crackdown Results In 24 Arrests

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. – The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office joined with multiple departments across the area to perform a crackdown on impaired drivers on Halloween weekend, arresting 24 people from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1 with saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints.

The other cities and towns who partnered with state police and the Dutchess County Sheriff's office included officers from Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park, East Fishkill, Poughkeepsie, Millerton, Wappinger’s Falls and Red Hook.

A total of 15 drivers were arrested for impaired driving, and nine others were arrested, including six for marijuana possession.

One was arrested under Leandra's Law, and another was arrested for fighting with and injuring an officer.
