Don't put those snow shovels away quite yet. The first snowfall to hit the area this season could be followed up with more snow this week.

The snow this week will not be as heavy as the storm that hit the tristate area on Saturday, which dropped as much as half a foot of snow on parts of the region. However, there is a possibility of more snow arriving Monday night, as well as later in the week, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a chance of flurries Sunday night after midnight, but otherwise the night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. Monday will be mostly cloudy during the day, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 38. Wind chill values will be between 20 and 30 on Monday.

Temperatures will drop to lows between 25 and 30 Monday night. Snow is likely, mainly after 3 a.m. on Tuesday. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent, though less than an inch is expected to accumulate.

Snow is likely on Tuesday, mainly before 9 a.m. This will be followed by a chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service. The total snow accumulation is expected to be less than an inch, though it could be between 1 to 3 inches in Putnam and Orange Counties. The rest of the day will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. Tuesday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 20.

Wednesday is expected to be mostly sunny and breezy, with a high near 25. Wednesday night will be mostly clear and breezy, with a low between 10 and 15.

It will be mostly sunny during the day on Thursday, when the high will be near 27. There is a 30 percent chance of snow hitting the area on Thursday night. The rest of the night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 15.

There is 30 percent chance of snow on Friday. Otherwise the day will be partly sunny, with a high around 33.
