ShopRite To Close 5 NY Locations: Here's Rundown
Supermarket chain ShopRite is closing five stores in New York.
The closures, scheduled for early December, are all in the Capital Region, according to a report by Winsight Grocery Business: Albany, Colonie, Niskayuna, Slingerlands, and North Greenbush.
The closures are due to underperforming sales, the report said.
ShopRite, which launched in the mid-1940s, has stores in six states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

Middletown Bakery To Close Doors: 'We Have Not Grown As Much As We Needed To,' Owner Says
After three years of a dream come true, a Connecticut bakery will be permanently closing as a result of stagnant business.
Cake, Batter & Roll, located in Middlesex County at 124 College St. in Middletown, will open for its last day of business on Sunday, Oct. 29, the owner announced on social media.
In the closing announcement, the owner cited a lack of growth as the reason for the closure.
"I have given everything to my business in order to see it succeed," she wrote, adding, "Unfortunately, we have not grown as much as we needed to in order to survive."
