New details have been released about the drowning of a 3-year-old boy who wandered into a neighbor's pool around noon on Sunday, the Lancaster County Coroner's Office explained to Daily Voice on Wednesday, May 8. The unnamed boy is believed to have "walked away from his home on Wheatland Ave. unbeknownst to his family, and within a short amount of time had made his way onto a nearby residential property where the pool was located," East Hempfield Township Police investigators said. As a thunderstorm blew through Central Pennsylvania, a fire blew through part of a 3-story apartment complex that was still under construction, fire officials announced on Wednesday. The call to the blaze at the construction site on Russel Drive in Susquehanna Township came in at 5:25 a.m. on May 8, according to the Dauphin County Deparment of Emergency Management. While investigating a reported child sexual abuse case in Central Pennsylvania the suspect appears to have made a confession, according to a release by the New Holland police on May 7, 2024. The investigation into Madison Bair, 30 of New Holland's alleged abuse of a girl began after the local police received a tip from a Mandatory Reporter via Child Line in October 2023, as explained in the release. A woman is in the hospital following a shooting on Tuesday afternoon, the Harrisburg police announced shortly after the incident. Officers were called to report of "shots fired" in the area of Kittatinny and Buckthorn streets at 1:45 p.m. on May 7, according to the police release.
