An Atlantic City man was accused of locking his ex-girlfriend in an apartment's crawl space, authorities said. Gary Lockel, 54, was arrested on Friday, May 3, the department said in a news release. He was charged with criminal restraint, terroristic threats, simple assault, obstruction of justice, and unlawful possession of a weapon. Driver Injured In Gloucester County Crash:

A driver was injured when he veered off Route 42 in Gloucester County, authorities said. Troopers responded to the crash shortly before 1 p.m. on Monday, May 6 at milepost 12.5 in Deptford Township, according to New Jersey State Police. Based on a preliminary investigation, a BMW passenger vehicle was traveling southbound on Route 42 when the driver lost directional control and struck the guardrail, State Police said. The driver sustained minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation.

An art gallery caught fire along the Jersey Shore, authorities said. Wall Township police said a driver called 911 and reported smoke coming from OPI Gallery on Route 35 at around 2:48 p.m. on Friday, May 3. A 38-year-old man from Millville was charged with driving while intoxicated after a three-vehicle crash in Vineland, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 4 at South Delsea Drive and West Sherman Avenue, according to Vineland police.
