Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Jon also writes periodically for the Cornell Chronicle.

Tractor-Trailer Flips On NJ Turnpike: Njsp A tractor-trailer flipped, snarling traffic on the New Jersey Turnpike, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 12:50 p.m. on Monday, April 29 on the Turnpike's Interchange 4 ramp to the toll plaza in Mount Laurel, according to New Jersey State Police. Based on a preliminary investigation, the Volvo tractor-trailer overturned on its side, State Police said. As the result of the crash, the driver of the Volvo sustained minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital, police said. The crash remains under investigation.

Cops ID Perth Amboy Man, 32, Stabbed Dead A 32-year-old man from Perth Amboy was stabbed to death Sunday, April 28, authorities said. Jason Torres was found collapsed at about 9 p.m. at Smith and Maple streets in Perth Amboy, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Lawrence Cattano of the Perth Amboy Police Department.
